If your petrol is more than 30 days old it’s more than likely that your petrol Stihl MS 181 chainsaw won’t start. A good 8 years ago it was announced by Honda and Briggs & Stratton engine manufactures for horticultural machinery that petroleum companies have decided to remove an additive from the petrol which reduced the life span to three months, which made it difficult to store over winter. As before we all could leave the can of petrol we bought the previous year to use the next year season. Today it has been reduced even less to 30 days. So if the petrol is older than 30 days the strength of the petroleum deteriorates to simple terms gluey water. Which now causes problems to the carburettor intake and engine ie spark plug. You may be able to flush out the old petrol from your Stihl MS 181 chainsaw by emptying the old from the tank, replace the fuel filter and spark plug and purchase new E5 petrol or Motomix fuel which will hopefully bring back your petrol Stihl MS 181 chainsaw
