To start or operate a petrol rear roller lawnmower depends on what mower you have? Though majority are all standard Hayter Harrier 41 is easy to operate as follow.
- Check Engine Oil level (Sae30) only if this is brand new. Though at Aps we do that for you!
- Check you are only using fresh petrol, as petrol today only last for approximately a month (recommend to buy E5)
- Place the throttle lever into the choke position (Hayter Harrier 48 not required)
- Pull/Squeeze the Operator Presence Control (OPC) Lever
- Pull the recoil rope or Push start button
- When the engine starts if your throttle lever is in choke position, place the throttle lever into idle or cutting speed (Hayter Harrier 48 not required)

What fuel do I use for a petrol rear roller lawnmower?
We would recommend to use E5 petrol from your main stream petrol stations ie Bp, Shell, Esso for a petrol rear roller lawnmower, due to that the standard E10 only lasts for approximately a month. When the petrol is more than a month old it weakens and ethanol that is added to the E10 becomes in simple terms watery that isn’t good for the carburetor of a rear roller petrol lawnmowers The E5 is more refined and clean which is better for the engine to give a better performance.
