If your Stihl HS 45 hedge trimmer is not starting there is two main reasons:
- Spark plug
Changing your spark plug may help is the original maybe coked up in carbon and can not produce a spark, though before do start please look at the other reason
- Old Fuel
Old Fuel seems to be the common reason why many machinery can not start if left over the winter period. If your petrol is more than 1 month old and you have used only the red HP engine only then the fuel is off or gone stale which makes the fuel goes in a jelly form. You need to empty the petrol tank and remove old fuel from the primer bulb and the best you can drain the old petrol from the carburettor. Once you have done that and you have added both new fuel (adding the HP or HP Super engine oil) and spark plug you can start pulling the recoil to start the engine. This may take a few pulls more than usual but make sure you don’t flood the carburettor.
If the above doesn’t work you may need to look for your local service centre as the old fuel needs to cleaned from the carburettor and engine.
