The oil is drained from the engine, the blade is removed for sharpening or replacing depending on its condition and the underside of the deck is thoroughly cleaned and checked for damage. At this point any belts and drive parts if fitted are inspected for excessive wear, replaced as necessary. The blade is balanced and reinstated on the machine.

Next the engine covers are removed and the normal build up of grass, dust and oil is cleaned from the main engine/cylinder block. The carburettor is opened up and cleaned, gaskets are checked for damage and replaced as necessary and throttle and choke linkages are checked for correct operation. Covers are reinstated along with new recoil rope if needed, spark plug, air filter and engine oil. The handle controls and cables are checked for correct operation.

Finally the machine is started and tuned were possible, final adjustments are made. Your mower is ready for another season.

With tractor mowers at certain intervals of the service the deck and transmission belts are checked for wear and replaced as necessary as well as tyre pressures, battery condition, steering components and grass collection if fitted.

The service is the same as the rotary mower detailed on this page but with the difference of the blades, the cutting cylinder is cleaned and checked for damage (sharpened if needed, a separate quote will be given for this).
