Product Details
The Climber 8.22 is a hydrostatic grass/rough cutting machine with a single blade, diff-lock, front safety brakes and electro-magnetic clutch. It is ideal when cutting long grass, small saplings, bracken etc on slopes or undulating ground. Thanks to its powerful 10HP engine, the Grillo Climber 8.22 is able to work safely and efficiently in maintaining overgrown neglected areas, woodland rides, paddocks etc. The extreme manoeuvrability, smooth steering and its speed allows the machine to work quickly and efficiently but at the same time it is simple and easy to operate. A machine which can be operated by most people!
The single blade cutter deck has an 85 cm working width. The robust structure of the deck is able to handle stones and other type of debris with no problem. The large diameter blade and the cutter deck’s drive system ensure reliability under heavy working conditions over long periods and also in safety. The cutter deck’s blade is produced from a special type of steel and has a specially designed profile to reduce noise, the blade tips are sharpened on both sides, (once they are worn they can be reversed for extended life) and are also of the swing back type configuration, this helps to protect the blade shaft, should an unseen object be struck. The cutter deck has side protections that can be raised, making cleaning and maintenance work much more easier.
The Climber 8.22 is compact with a low centre of gravity and optimal weight distribution and has been designed to obtain maximum stability and maximum safety for its operator. The reduced ground clearance makes the 7.18 ideal for work under low positioned branches etc. The seat which is located low down in the machine (the lowest in this kind of category), the engine, again positioned low in the chassis, the cutter deck placed exactly between the 4 wheels and the battery housed over the front axle, contributes to the machine’s extraordinarily stable and safe behaviour when working on slopes.
The extremely small turning radius of just 45 cm ensures tight areas are no problem. The pivoting front axle and the “Tractor” profile tyres ensure grip and drive on uneven or slippery ground. The Grillo Climber 8.22 will climb slopes in safely. With the aim to further increase the operator’s safety, the machine is fitted with drum brakes on each front wheel and are activated via a foot pedal. The front wheels are anti-puncture treated to help with working in the most hostile areas possible!
Transmission consists of a hydrostatic axle equipped with an oil cooling fan, which is absolutely necessary to increase the transmission’s performance by reducing its temperature. The mechanical diff-lock is standard, and is operated via a pedal. This device is indispensable for working on slopes with little grip or in the case of extremely uneven ground, where the machine would perhaps be working on only 3 wheels.
Engagement of the blade is operated via an electric push-button positioned close to the steering wheel. The cutting height from 35 to 85 mm is regulated from the driver’s seat by a lever having 6 cutting positions, this same lever has a further position for transfer, it raises the cutter deck from the ground. This procedure interrupts the blades’ rotation in order to negotiate over kerbs and other obstacles. The deck’s belt tension is self-adjusting. The whole deck is constantly kept parallel to the ground improving the cutting quality even after years of use.
The Grillo Climber 8.22 is an extremely comfortable machine to use! The extraordinary leg room is obtained via a low two position adjustable footrest. The operator’s feet are at the optimum angle to achieve maximum safety. The drive lever and the steering wheel are smooth in operation. The comfortable, adjustable & dampened seat is fitted with armrests that retain the operator while working slopes.
Driving the Climber 8.22 will not cause fatigue during extended working periods!
The Climber 8.22 is powered by a Briggs & Stratton petrol engine with electric start and has a 7 ltr fuel tank. The single cylinder overhead valve engine and cast iron liner has a 344 cc displacement with all the latest innovations to offer reliability, low emissions, reduced consumption, high performance and vibrations reduced to the minimum. The air filter is easily accessible for quick cleaning operations. The Climber 7.18’ s exhaust “Grillo Super Silent” is designed by Grillo and was developed to obtain maximum noise reduction and minimum resistance at the exhaust.
The Climber’s 8.22 aggressive styling is up to the minute! The modern and clean lines of it bodywork line and chassis catches the eye! The 8.22 has passed very stringent tests to prove the reliability of its transmission, cutter deck, chassis and all its components. Engine protection bar, tow hitch, hour meter and front light are standard features.
All components, from the simplest to the most complex, are of a high standard. The chassis, cutting transmission, cutter deck, are all built by Grillo using premium materials and cutting edge technology. All this in order to achieve a constant 100% quality control level. Painting of Grillo machines incorporates a double electrostatic powder coating process. At the first stage are the washing baths and preparation, then a first protective coat is applied which is then baked in a special oven, this has proven to be the best base for the application of the finish. The second coat consists of powder coating and still further baking in an oven at 190°C, this then produces the characteristic hardness and shine. All Climbers 8.22 are assembled with care in every detail and tested scrupulously by specialized personnel. Final inspection includes running the engine in order to check all its functions to ensure a further and final guarantee of a first class product.
The Climber 8.22, as with all Grillo products, was designed and built to last plus retain its value over many years. All Grillo machines are distributed and serviced by a widespread dealer network. Spare parts remain available for many years after production has stopped giving you extra confidence in Grillo.
