RMA 448 PV CORDLESS LAWN MOWER FOR LARGE LAWNS WITH VARIABLE SPEED
The RMA 448 PV from STIHL is a battery-powered self-propelled lawn mowerdesigned for users looking to cut large lawns -at home. it’s a lightweight mower that is fitted with innovative key features. This 4 Series battery-powered lawn mower is quiet and packs plenty of power – making it the ideal choice for gardeners.
The RMA 448 PV mower is built with a rugged polymer deck that is lightweight, rust proof and double layered for additional stability. It’s UV resistant, has a 48 cm / 18" cutting width and single point height adjustment that is adjustable between 20 – 100 mm. The RMA 448 PV is part of the AP System range of tools and is powered by an AP 300 S battery that is interchangeable with other machines across the range. This lawn mower is fitted with sequential battery discharge, which means the lawn mower has an automatic switchover feature - so when one battery runs out of power, it will automatically switch over to the next one. On a full charge with the recommended AP 300 S battery you will be able to mow lawns up to 510 m2, which becomes 1,020 m2 when the lawn mower is used with two AP 300 S batteries.
The RMA 448 PV has 4 different ways of mowing. No additional tools are required but we do recommend you refer to the owner’s manual before working. You can either:
- Cut & collect with the grass catcher box fitted
- Cut & drop by removing the grass catcher box
- Side discharge with the flap that is integrated into the deck
- Mulch with the multi-blade and mulching attachment
The RMA 448 PV has a built-in electronic interface on the mono-handlebar which shows useful information such as the battery charge, the ability to switch between mowing modes and adjust the motor speed levels. The comfort mono-handlebar allows easy access to the grass catcher box, making it easier to remove and empty when it’s full – plus, thanks to the fill level indicator on the grass catcher box you’ll know exactly when to empty the box too! The 52-litre grass catcher box is ergonomically designed and easy to fully open for fast emptying. The sturdy mono-handlebar is height adjustable and foldable for compact storage after use. The mono-handlebar has also has a 10 year warranty too.

Height-Adjustable Comfort Handle Bar
COMFORTABLE WORKING AND STORAGE. The comfort handlebar is only mounted on one side of the lawn mower, making it easier for you to remove the grass collection box. As the handlebar is height-adjustable, it enables you to mow your lawn comfortably and ergonomically. You can adjust it to your preferred height without using tools. As the handlebar is also foldable, the lawn mower can be compactly stored and transported.
Flow-Optimised Blades
ENERGY-EFFICIENT WORKING. Flow-optimised blades mean your lawn mower uses less electricity; as a result, you can use cordless mowers to mow larger areas with the same amount of energy, even without charging. The blades trim the grass with minimal air resistance, making optimal use of the stored energy.
Polymer Housing
HIGH-RESISTANCE AND LIGHTWEIGHT. The highly resilient and robust polymer housing is petrol-resistant and protects the engine block against UV radiation. The high-quality plastic is also exceptionally light.
Eco Mode
ENERGY-EFFICIENT WORKING. With Eco mode activated, the speed of your lawn mower engine automatically adapts to the output you actually need. This means that your cordless lawn mower uses less energy and can handle a larger area before it needs to be charged again.
Central Cut-Height Adjustment For Lawnmowers
FOR OPTIMUM MOWER RESULTS. You can adjust the cutting height on your lawn mower easily and in several levels. A scale shows the current height. Central cut-height adjustment allows you to optimally adapt your mowing to the conditions of the lawn.
Smooth-Running Wheels
IMPROVE CONTROL. With robust and durable smooth-running wheels, you can keep track of your lawn mowing easily and effortlessly. Thanks to their traction and directional stability, these smooth-running wheels can be effortlessly manoeuvred to support careful and comfortable lawn maintenance.
Folding Grass Collection Box
EASY EMPTYING. Your lawn mower is equipped with a folding grass collection box to make emptying clippings very straightforward. The fill-level indicator signals the right time for emptying. An airstream ensures dense filling while mowing, so you can make optimum use of the full volume of the box. The slats on the side of the box direct the air towards the ground, which protects you from dirt being swirled up.
Carry Handle
EASY TO TRANSPORT. The practical carry handle positioned over the centre of gravity ensures that you can carry your tool very easily and without tilting.
Sequential Discharge
WORK UNINTERRUPTED FOR LONGER. If the first battery in your device runs out, it will automatically switch to the second battery without interrupting your work.
Vario Self-Drive
The Vario self-propulsion enables individual adaptation of the speed of the STIHL lawn mower to personal mowing habits and lawn conditions. The mowing speed can be infinitely varied using the control lever on the handlebar.
Digital HMI
STAY INFORMED. The display on the handle bar of your lawn mower tells you the charge level of the batteries, the working mode you have selected, the maximum speed setting and possible faults with the mower. This allows you to see important information at a glance so you can work effectively at all times. In addition, you can use the HMI to make changes to settings such as the driving speed or mowing mode.
Constant Power
When using other brands of battery tools, the performance can sometimes decrease during work as the battery discharges. This isn't the case with STIHL battery-powered tools. Thanks to the intelligent electronics, your tool will work with consistently high power across the entire battery charge, until there is no energy left in the battery.
Power Boost
MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE INCREASE. Thanks to intelligent electronics, STIHL power tools and batteries communicate with each other. If the device and battery are equipped with the POWER BOOST function, the battery always provides the maximum possible power for the respective application. In order to ensure optimum battery life, the device temporarily adjusts the power if it is used too intensively.
Energy Recovery
When the throttle is released, energy is recovered and fed back into the battery - which extends the battery life during use.
IPX4 Certified
SPLASHWATER PROTECTION. The AP 200 S is IPX4 certified thanks to the encapsulated electronics and sealing of each individual cell. It means that the battery is protected against splashwater from all sides and can be used in rainy conditions.
