Designed to be powerful and reliable you won’t believe how easy and fun it is to drive until you try it for yourself. Easy to start thanks to the electric key start and the blades are engaged and disengaged at the flick of a switch through an electronic clutch. Headlights and a parking brake add to the safety of this Mountfield 1638H lawn tractor. The headlights will allow you to work in fading light, now you can (hopefully) get all your work finished in one day!
Featuring a high performing Stiga ST550 586cc v-twin engine you can be assured of plenty of power and a smooth ride. The hydrostatic transmission offers you an infinite amount of speeds in both forward and reverse gear. Working in the same way as an automatic car you simply press or depress the pedal to select a speed to suit you and your working conditions. The pedal is highly responsive allowing you to remain in full control of your speed at all times.
The 98cm cutting width actually cuts wider than the cutting bar which means there will be a minimal amount of trimming to do afterwards. The 7 cutting heights range from 25mm to 80mm and allow you to cut your grass whatever the length. The anti-scalp wheels give a perfectly smooth finish even on the lowest setting.
The cut grass is efficiently blown into the generous 240 litre collector bag which will sound an alarm to let you know that the bag is full. You won’t overfill it thanks to this early warning system. Emptying the collector can be done from the driver’s seat - you won’t need to dismount. Simply back up to your compost heap, pull the lever and say goodbye to your grass!
If you don’t want to collect the grass you can choose to mulch instead with the optional mulch plug. The mulched grass will be finely cut and left on your lawn in neat lines - you’ll barely notice it. Here it will sit and break down naturally whilst returning vital nutrients back to your grass. Additional grass fertilizing products will not be needed which will save you money, time and effort. Mulching is highly recommended and saves you the trouble of collecting.
Keeping the deck clean couldn’t be simpler; just attach your garden hose to the snap-on connector, turn on the tap and engage the blades. A jet of water will be blasted around beneath the deck washing it clean - now it's all ready for next time.
