HLA 140 B Cordless Telescopic Adjustable Long-reach Hedge Trimmer
The STIHL HLA 140 Cordless Long-Reach Hedge Trimmer is built for professional users who require exceptional performance, comfort and precision when maintaining tall hedges, shrubs and large garden borders. Powered by the STIHL AP Battery System, this 36V cordless hedge trimmer delivers powerful, low-noise operation, making it ideal for use in residential areas, commercial landscaping, and local authority maintenance.
Featuring a 245cm overall length, the HLA 140 provides excellent reach for trimming high and wide hedges without the need for ladders. Its 60cm (24") laser-cut, double-sided, double-edged, diamond-ground blades deliver clean, accurate cuts, while the friction-optimised blade design improves cutting efficiency and helps maximise battery runtime.
The adjustable cutter head offers an impressive 145° working range, allowing you to cut hedge tops, sides and low growth comfortably from a variety of angles. Meanwhile, the high-performance brushless EC motor provides rapid blade speeds of up to 4,000rpm, with three selectable speed settings (3,200, 3,600 and 4,000rpm) to suit different hedge types and cutting conditions.
Designed with operator comfort in mind, the STIHL HLA 140 is lightweight, well-balanced and produces low vibration and low noise, making it ideal for extended periods of work. The ergonomic control handle is suitable for both left- and right-handed users, while the integrated anti-lock system automatically reverses the blade if it becomes jammed, helping maintain productivity when tackling thicker branches.
For added convenience, the cutter head folds flat for transport, reducing the overall length from 245cm to 188cm, making it easier to transport and store. In addition, the IPX4-rated construction provides reliable performance in wet weather, allowing you to continue working in rain and damp conditions.
When paired with the recommended STIHL AP 200 P battery, the HLA 140 delivers up to 103 minutes of working time, making it an excellent choice for professional hedge maintenance throughout the working day.

Power Boost
The MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE INCREASE. Thanks to intelligent electronics, STIHL power tools and batteries communicate with each other. If the device and battery are equipped with the POWER BOOST function, the battery always provides the maximum possible power for the respective application. In order to ensure optimum battery life, the device temporarily adjusts the power if it is used too intensively.handy telescopic shaft can be extended from 260cm to 330cm. Simple shaft length adjustments are made using the quick release mechanism.
Constant Power
